We stayed in the Gables section of the Lakeside Inn on (6/7/2007).
The room itself was perfectly fine, but the bathroom was very sub par.
The problems in the bathroom included:
-- Mold in the tile grout in the tub area
-- A constantly leaking sink faucet (which was also very loose and moved when you used it)
-- A toilet that you had to flush at least three times for anything to go down
-- A window pane that was clear when all others were frosted (like the maintenance worker didn't bother to find the right pane)
I was also not happy to see the "Energy Surcharge" on our bill. I felt like the Lakeside Inn was nickel-and-diming me to get a few extra dollars. Your customers should be told about these "surcharges" up-front and not when they are handed the bill.
Websites describe "Energy Surcharges" as follows:
Hotel "Energy Surcharges" are about one thing: lying to you about what the room rate is.
I was raised in Mt. Dora and now live in Zellwood, but this was my first stay at the Lakeside Inn. I must say that I was disappointed.
