We should have known immediately from the threadbare carpet immediately upon entering, that this was a substandard hotel. We spent two nights at the Kennedy, traveled around Italy, then returned to the Kennedy for one night before our flight back to the states.

Before checking out the first time, we reconfirmed our booking, and were told "No problem". Since our rooms were booked through a travel agent, they were paid in advance. Clearly the rooms that were reserved for our final night had found guests who would pay more, and so the Kennedy said that we could stay at a hotel around the corner. It was substandard and had fleas. When I told the manager that this was unacceptable, all he would do was offer me a free ride on a tour bus.

The rooms we stayed in the first two nights were adequate, however the staff was not terribly helpful in trying to communicate with Alitalia to find our lost luggage.

This is the equivalent of a Motel Six, but the one they switched us to was one up from a crack house. The rooms had fleas or bedbugs, but something was biting all night.

Save your money and look for a reputable hotel. If you're American--this one is clearly hostile territory.
