My new wife and I loved our stay in The Ridge at Kapalua Villas! We had an ocean view room, which was extremely clean and very spacious (we had a single bedroom). The rooms are a bit dated - old TV and other AV equipment, old tile, window a/c units...
47 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I thought those bait and switch photos for hotels were a thing of the past. Not here at the Kapalua Villas. Paid for a "Gold" ocean front room. Got a ocean view room that wasn't even a real ocean view---unless you think leaning against a wall and looking through a few trees, across a pool, pool house, and etc. at weird angles to see a patch of blue. When we complained, we were told that it was considered ocean front because there wasn't another condo in front of this one that totally blocked access. The room had a bad moldy, damp, smell. Everything seemed damp and clamy--sheets, towells, furniture. The AC units made a LOT of noise.

50 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This was the stay from hell. We paid a lot for a "gold" unit, ocean front. We got there and were given an ocean view room that was in horrible condition. Even the bell person said they had been trying to contact the owner for repair. We complained. We had to stay in the unit one night and then were moved to another unit. This unit had filthy windows, stained carpet, threadbare and stained furniture, a toilet that ran constantly, and a shower facet that pulled out of the wall! We complained and nothing was done. We were told there were no other 'gold' units available. We looked at a 'lesser' unit and were horrified. They bring fresh towels and change bed linens every 3 days, no cleaning of floors, bathrooms or kitchens.
If you're looking for a condo, keep looking and stay far away from the Kapalua Villas. They honestly needed to refund our entire trip. Of course, that didn't happen. My husband washed the windows so we could see out of them!! We will never be back and hope that others consider our experience before they waste their hard earned money.
There is heavy construction going on at the new resort next door and the neighboring unit. The tile saws were especially annoying. Don't waste your time and money.
