You won't find luxurious rooms at the Grand unless you stay on the concierge floor. The rooms are decent, albeit older...but so is the hotel. The staff is very accomodating, the food in the hotel restaurants varies from ok to great. The hotel is directly across the street from Mayo, so the convenience and price make the choice a sensible. The skyways and subways make moving about easy. Nearby shops and restaurants add to the convenience. The hotel is comforting at a time when you need it. I would not stay any place else.
Was our first time to Rochester, Mayo and Kahler. All were great and lived up to our expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Personnel were efficient and pleasant. Very convenient to Mayo Clinic which made it especially nice...walk across the street. Will use again if have to return to Mayo.
I am very likely
to return to the The Kahler Grand Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Spa area was nice and clean...very hard to get to and from...room was small with bed facing a different direction from the TV... wall paper coming off the walls... not enogh shampoo..conditioner...lotion...coffee was enough for only 1 person.
Personel were great...
I expected more from such a well known establishment.
It was not at all what I hoped for. It was no better that a motel 8. It was not worth the 102.79 I paid. It looked so much nicer on the website. I was there for a overnight stay to the Mayo Hospital. I had choosen you're hotel for the convenice I di
Elegant. ALL the staff was EXTREMELY helpful. Lovely, lovely setting. Room very clean. We have absolutely no complaints - none whatsoever - during our three day stay. We were there for Mayo Cllinic - which was literally right across the street.
For the first 11 nights they stay was good. Large, clean room. (149.00/night)
Room 764. I moved to a smaller room as my husband was in the hospital and I didn't need the big room. (89.00 /night) This room was terrible. Tape over a broken window, water stained, yellow ceilings, old furniture and a bad smell no vanity and 1 electrical outlet that was acessable and everything was plugged in to it. Room 746. The laundry faclities were also bad. I hope this room was on the list for renovation. It was convenient to the Mayo clinic and the staff was extremely nice.
