73 year old woman with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

We have stayed twice at the Kahala, once when it was in the mandarin chain and the other time when it became the Kahala resort.

Both stays were equally memorable for luxury, pampering, fantastic food, fantastic service, breathtaking views and super friendly staff.

The rooms are large and comfortable. The bathroom is bigger and better appointed than any I've stayed in. The free shuttle takes you wherever you want. The highlight was swimming with the dolphins.

I can't wait for my next visit.

Our room was fantastic. The food was out of this world, especially the buffet in the a.m. It was pricey, but you're in Hawaii! The beach is secluded and wonderfully cared for. All the service we received was helpful, courteous, and more than we had asked for. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend it.

It's not the old Kahala. Their service was terrible and the amenities in the room were awful! And their food was horrid.

It had beautiful surroundings, a polite staff, and breathtaking views.

This hotel made me feel important: They treated us like honored guests. No request was deemed silly or unimportant. The hotel and room were beautifully appointed. The bell services went above and beyond.

I am very likely to return to the The Kahala Hotel and Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It's a fabulous property, I adored the location, service, spa, food, and staff. I understand the property is no longer a Mandarin property. I loved the history, famous guests, etc.

This hotel made me feel inspired: The property's location was stunning and breathtaking. I was invigorated each and every morning I awoke to the sounds of the Pacific Ocean lapping against the shore.

I am very likely to return to the The Kahala Hotel and Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This hotel is good if you are looking to splurge a bit. It is on the outskirts of the city which makes away from the action, but at the same time its quiet and away from mischief. It's connected to a country club and they have dolphins at the hotels.

The rooms definitely show the price well. However, I'm more of a facilities person. It's right along the beach so you can choose between the beach and the pool. Also, it's secluded so the beach only has hotel guests. I was particularly fond of the smoothies. The buffet is amazing and I loved the Chinese chicken salad.

Also, they have a huge wall covered in the photos of every famous person who has ever stayed at the hotel and there are probably 200+ signed photos. The shopping in the hotel isn't that extensive, but Kahala mall is fairly nice, but a little low end in comparison to the hotel. Most people go to this hotel because it is a luxury with a nice secluded aspect to it.

I am very likely to return to the The Kahala Hotel and Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

For the price paid for the room, it wasn't all that spectacular. Also, the restaurants were pricey but the food was just okay.

I am not likely to return to the The Kahala Hotel and Resort.
