The sales and catering staff were amazing.

Their help in planning made our rehearsal dinner and wedding day run smoothly. They did it all with a smile.

The resturant wait staff were helpful as well.

Overall a wonderful experience.

I look forward to spending our Anniversary there next year.

67 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

WE wanted to spend some time on the coast and hoped for a good view of the ocean. It couldn't have been better. Our one bedroom unit looked out over an ever changing spectacular scene with waves crashing against the rock cliffs demanding to be recorded on camera or video cam. At low tide seals hauled out to sun themselves on the rocks by the tide pools. The view was so wonderful from our livingroom, bedroom, and balcony that we had no incentive to watch TV or travel to other locations. Our unit was tastefully decorated and fully functional so it was easy to prepare meals while relaxing and taking in the show before us. The grounds were extensive and landscaped in a beautifullt natural style. The staff were friendly and ilnstantly responsive.

I am very likely to return to the The Inn at Otter Crest.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

If you're not planning to spend a lot of time in the room and want to be surrounded by outdoor beauty, then by all means, this is a great place.

Understand, however, that you are paying for the scenery and beautiful grounds not the room. The rooms are privately-owned time shares and of the seven or so units we checked out, the owners furnished these units with really seedy-looking (some downright grimy) and horribly uncomfortable furniture. Honestly, I have seen better looking furniture in the dumpsters outside our kids' university dormitories!

After paying top dollar, we were so appalled at the first room we got, we asked for a different room twice before we gave up and just accepted what we got (note: we are middle-aged, middle income, travel a fair amount and have never before felt the need to ask for a different room).

For the $200/night we paid, the units themselves look like some seedy dive you'd expect for $20/night just remember it's not the room you're paying for. The cabinets and railings to the upstairs are 70's vintage nothing wrong with that just that they've not been maintained well. It's not that the rooms are not clean, they are. The staff does a commendable job considering what they have to work with.

And speaking of staff, what a great bunch so friendly and helpful and quickly available. If you like to walk, well, there's a lot of walking to be done around here a good 3-7 minute invigorating walk from car to room, depending on where your room is which is great unless you're physically handicapped or not able to walk that far. If you have difficulty walking more than a few hundred feet uphill, then this will be a physically challenging stay.

There is a tram that goes up and down the hill from the restaurant parking lot conceivably you could ask for a room next to the tram, but you still will have to do some walking and likely stair climbing. This is just a cautionary note in case you're disabled at all.

The on-site Flying Dutchman Restaurant was disappointing at best. After dining there on several different occasions, we found the floors to be consistently dirty; the food quality ranged from so-so to "send it back" and the service was consistently slow and short-staffed. Go into town to eat if you can there are much better choices in several nearby towns.

In short, if you can get a room rate under $60 and are not planning to spend a lot of time in the room, then you might have a lovely stay. But if you want to enjoy the accommodations, we highly recommend going somewhere else. There are several other places close by that are less expensive and have much higher quality rooms.

It is a beautiful spot on the Oregon coast.
