The Inn at Oriental - Page 1

The review dated Nov. 2006 is clearly a mistake. There is no marina at this establishment and no Tiki bar. We stayed here in 2002 and 2003 and found it to be good . However , there is a dog on the premises but we brought our own small well behaved dog with us. Rooms were fine and the breakfasts great. I don't remember a doggy smell and I have a marvelous olfactory system. People with animal allergies should always ask ,especially at private home B&B's.

Upon walking into the inn, I was hit with the stench of dog. The dog was the only one around to greet us. Later we spoke to the owner and informed her I was allergic to dogs. She tried to reassure me that it wouldn't be a problem because the dog lives in the kitchen. How exactly is that a comfort? Then she muttered that I should have told them of my allergies when making the reservation then went on to argue with her husband about it.

There were dead leaves and nuts covering the patio. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, bring your own broom to clean up before you can sit down. The rooms weren't in the greatest shape. The pillow sham was stained, paint was flaking from the wall, and the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom was falling down in chunks.

The breakfast was good but that's the only positive thing I can say about the place.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The location was the best in town. There was one person running the entire place, or so it seemed, but he knew his job well. We came in the off season and the prices were excellent. The rooms were the biggest highlight, they were two story and extremely nice. The balcony overlooked the marina and it was plenty big enough to sit out on and watch the sunset.

This hotel made me feel entertained: The Tiki Bar and the balcony we had in our room combined to make it a very fun hotel. We could even people watch from the balcony.
