Excellent
Something smells here and it's not the Inn at Jack London Square: "staff was rude and inconsiderate," "surly service person," "people at the front desk said hardly a thing to us," "do not expect friendly staff," "the front desk service was AWFUL,"...

Horrible
This hotel is not the Jack London Inn. It is really a Best Western who lost they name. When I got there I realized this wasn't the Inn we stay at every year. My wife booked and we wanted to go to the Jack London Inn and cancle here. The manager...
The front desk staff was rude and inconsiderate. When we checked in, we were given a dirty room. After one hour they moved us to another room. The noise from a bar woke us at 2 am and dint subside until 3. No manager appeared on the weekend and...
If you're a low-maintenance traveller looking for a clean place to stay this is among the least expensive places in the area, and we found it just right. We booked on hotels.com and got a great rate.

Okay
The receptionist was friendly but we were charged $10 to park in the garage (surprise). The hallway to the room smelled like cigarets and marijuana. The bed was lumpy. We were afraid to eat the continental breakfast because the food was out where...

Mediocre
Formerly a Best Western, this is now independent. Expect to hear the nearby train whistle loudly and repeatedly repeatedly during the night. Adjacent restaurant with discount, and many other restaurants nearby. Secure attached parking. Has gone...
Considering the cost of the hotel

Horrible
Considering the cost of the hotel compared to other ones in Oakland, I decided to be patient with the extremely poor service. (It took forever to get a crib and refrigerator in the room, but it eventually came because I was persistent.)
I wouldn't...
Adequate accommodations. The shower

Okay
Adequate accommodations. The shower doors didn't close and water filled the room. The water pressure was a trickle at best. Parking was supposed to be included, the lot was full so we had to park outside in front of a restaurant.

27 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I enjoyed most of what this hotel had to offer. The room was comfortable and it came as expected. I encountered two problems, a horrendously small bathroom, with a shower door that did not work and water that went all over the floor. I did not have a television remote. It was no big deal and it was quickly replaced. The location was central to places I needed to go. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was free. The internet access worked well. The beds were comfortable.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the The Inn at Jack London Square.
I might recommend it to friends.
