Bottom line: it's a fancy, elegant, quiet, well-located hotel that isn't really worth the price (not as bad if you have a AAA discount, though).
Let's put it this way -- the room service was a microcosm of my experience there. At the end of a long day, I decided to spoil myself by ordering some dinner to my room. The food arrived promptly and was delicious...as well as ludicrously overpriced for the portions!

Great, light filled lobby. Helpful and professional staff. Conveniently located near Harvard Square, Harvard University and a plethora of shops and restaurants. Great for college tours or family visits.

The hotel, and the rooms themselves, have a lot of flash but little core value.
The service is poor. Everything is about money, even after charging >$200/night !! They charge for everything else including 800 # calls, newspapers, etc. It is terrible. The concierge only knows the name of the hotel restaurant.
If you have to be close to Harvard, the location is good. But there are better hotels that are just as convenient as this one.
