The surfaces on shelves and desk were dusty. Furniture worn. Bedding was soft but not enough support. The view suite has the same view as the rest, looking at either freeway or rooftops so don't pay the extra $ for the view suite. The wave pool's wave comes far in between. Have to pay $25 to buy your inner tube at the lazy river.
Problem 1: Left my charger in the old room when I switched room the day before. Got no help from front desk who told me to wait until 9 a.m. to call lost and found. 9 a.m. I called all I got was an answering machine. Left a message. No one returned my call. I went looking for the lost and found office and was directed to the security desk at the casino. He pulled out 3 bags of phone chargers but would not allow me to look inside because he said they were not from my manufacturer which was T Mobile. He called Lost and Found for me. Again no one answered. Frustrated I decided to go up to the old floor and hunt down some house keeping attendants hoping for anwers. Spoke to 3 attendants who said they did not service my old room. The 4th one said she couldnot recall but remembered finding a charger and had turned it in but wasn't sure if it was from my old room. After several minutes of my interrogation, she reluctantly pulled out a charger from a box in her cart and it was mine! She had not turned it in.
Problem 2: Offerred me no late ck out when I asked over the phone. I offerred to pay, they said they were sold out. I went down to the front desk and spoke to another attendant. He preceded to make me an offer but was interrupted by another who told me no. I went back to my room and called the Mandalay Hotel(their other hotel) front desk to see if they could help. They offerred me a half day rate but thought maybe I could get better rate help from the VIP guest services since I only needed an hour for my children to shower from 5-6 p.m. The VIP guest services sold me a half day rate at $110 to stay until 6 p.m. or check out by 1 p.m. at no charge. It was noon when we spoke. I explained that we could check out but need a room, any room, just to take a quick shower after the kids get done swimming at 5 p.m. They would not allow this so I paid an extra $110 to have a shower at 5 p.m. After all this trouble when we arrived at the pools at 3 p.m., they were evacuating people because there was fear of lightning. We sat and waited until 4 p.m. before they allowed the kids to swim.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with your family this is not your hotel. Stay at the MGM Signature. It has a full kitchen and is much quieter, cleaner and much better kept. It does have a lazy river but no wave pool.
