Check in counter personnel were disinterested and condenscending. We arrived late and they had no smoking suites left. After several minutes of back and forth on the equity of prepaying for a suite and not getting one the first of four nights, they offered a $100 food and beverage credit. We were moved into a suite the next day (after several trips to the desk to check if one was ready throughout the day) and it was beautiful. Not a great view but the room decor and having 2 bathrooms was awesome and maid service was excellent.
My husband and I lost a few hundred playing blackjack the last night and the table dealers ranged from surly to extremely helpful. The concierge was a jerk when my husband asked about transportation on the strip and basically blew him off. So it was really hit or miss as to the level of service you received from any particular individual. The valets were great and were more than happy to help with directions and suggestions.
We ate at RM Seafood, Border Grill and Strip Steak for dinner. All three were excellent and the wait staff were top notch. Polite, friendly and accommodating. The highlight for me was seeing and getting to meet Chef Rick Moonen who stepped into the dining room at RM during our meal. He was so nice and it was amazing to see a celebrity chef who actually works in their own restaurant.
Definitely get a Players Club card to track your bets on slots or blackjack. I registered on-line and we picked up the cards before making our first bet. An added bonus is that the same card can be used at several MGM hotels on the strip so I also used it at the MGM Grand and the Luxor. After three days of betting, I had over 6,000 points and we were comped $400 of food and beverage charged to our room. Again to illustrate the disparity in service, when we picked up our player's cards the gentleman barely spoke to us. I asked about linking our cards and was told he could do that. When we checked the next day we found he hadn't linked them and that was quickly remedied by someone more helpful at the club desk. Additionally, the second gentleman gave us two passes to the buffet (decent food) and told us (against the rules) what the approximate value of our points were.
The irony was that the same gentleman we got when we picked up our cards was working the day we were leaving and of course, I got him. What a turn around in attitude once he saw the points I'd racked up in a few days, he was basically falling all over himself to tell me what a great customer I was and how they would be pleased to comp our entire bill. He went on to say that had we booked directly through Mandalay, our rooms would have been comped as well. No worries since I got an excellent package deal through Delta but it was nice to know they could be pleasant at some point suring our stay. One note, make sure you visit the Player's Club desk immediately before checking out. If you check out first, they will do nothing for you as far as comps. The helpful gentleman on Day 2 alerted us to this fact and I was very grateful as it turned out being worth $400 for us.
Overall, we liked TheHotel and would probably stay again. Just be prepared for inconsistent levels of service. The clientele ranged from partiers in their early 20's to older, married couples looking for a more sedate vacation. In comparison, we went to MGM Grand to see Ka (excellent!) and it was a zoo. It seemed everyone there was in party mode and there was a plethora of hooker heals, barely there dresses and lots of young, drunk guys drooling over the throngs of girls cruising the casino. Compared to the Luxor and MGM Grand, Mandalay's casino is much larger and nicer as well. If you can get past some of the bad service and attitudes, this is a nice place to stay and there were a lot of people who did provide excellent service and made our anniversary memorable.

The surfaces on shelves and desk were dusty. Furniture worn. Bedding was soft but not enough support. The view suite has the same view as the rest, looking at either freeway or rooftops so don't pay the extra $ for the view suite. The wave pool's wave comes far in between. Have to pay $25 to buy your inner tube at the lazy river.
Problem 1: Left my charger in the old room when I switched room the day before. Got no help from front desk who told me to wait until 9 a.m. to call lost and found. 9 a.m. I called all I got was an answering machine. Left a message. No one returned my call. I went looking for the lost and found office and was directed to the security desk at the casino. He pulled out 3 bags of phone chargers but would not allow me to look inside because he said they were not from my manufacturer which was T Mobile. He called Lost and Found for me. Again no one answered. Frustrated I decided to go up to the old floor and hunt down some house keeping attendants hoping for anwers. Spoke to 3 attendants who said they did not service my old room. The 4th one said she couldnot recall but remembered finding a charger and had turned it in but wasn't sure if it was from my old room. After several minutes of my interrogation, she reluctantly pulled out a charger from a box in her cart and it was mine! She had not turned it in.
Problem 2: Offerred me no late ck out when I asked over the phone. I offerred to pay, they said they were sold out. I went down to the front desk and spoke to another attendant. He preceded to make me an offer but was interrupted by another who told me no. I went back to my room and called the Mandalay Hotel(their other hotel) front desk to see if they could help. They offerred me a half day rate but thought maybe I could get better rate help from the VIP guest services since I only needed an hour for my children to shower from 5-6 p.m. The VIP guest services sold me a half day rate at $110 to stay until 6 p.m. or check out by 1 p.m. at no charge. It was noon when we spoke. I explained that we could check out but need a room, any room, just to take a quick shower after the kids get done swimming at 5 p.m. They would not allow this so I paid an extra $110 to have a shower at 5 p.m. After all this trouble when we arrived at the pools at 3 p.m., they were evacuating people because there was fear of lightning. We sat and waited until 4 p.m. before they allowed the kids to swim.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with your family this is not your hotel. Stay at the MGM Signature. It has a full kitchen and is much quieter, cleaner and much better kept. It does have a lazy river but no wave pool.

From the minute you walk in the door, the beauty and cleanliness of the hotel are just overwhelming. This place is the epitome of quality on the Las Vegas Strip.
When I opened my room, I was stunned at how modern and clean it was. The only negatives are that the food is expensive, the pool closes too early (6 pm), and it is quite a walk from the center of the strip.
Other than that, you will not be disappointed if you are staying here. This hotel makes other Vegas hotels look very mediocre.
THE Hotel has some of the nicest guest rooms in town and are competitively priced. I find a lower standard of customer service than expected. Not nearly as good as Four Seasons but not as expensive...
Aureole is excellent in every way. The room is dramatic and quiet. The food is very good by any standard. The sweet pea ravioli starter and beef duo entree are worth a mention. The e-winebook makes navigating a large wine list a snap. The meyer...

Well we have stayed at the Mandalay Bay probably 6 times in the last few years - but we won't go back again! We upgraded this trip to a suite and they put us in a room with an adjoining door to another suite. We were up at all hours listening the pe

Good
When in Vegas you should try this Burger joint. The service is great and the food is right up there. Pretty quick food in and out just what you need when in Vegas, so you can on with things.

We had the worst experience of our lives this year with the hotel situation. First of all, every year my friend has a Company Christmas trip to Las Vegas. I go with her every year and it was horrible! We had reserved over 15 rooms, which included
Only there for 3 nights, first time in Vegas, will certainly be going back to the hotel. On arrival we were told the room we had booked was unavailable but the lady at reception said she hoped we would like the room we were to be staying in. Well we
