Yet, we appreciate modern conveniences including high-speed wireless internet and first-run movies. The Hotel Denver is ideally located in the downtown core of Glenwood Springs on the Colorado River. It is just a short scenic walk from the world-famous hot springs pool, and in the heart of the restaurant/retail district. Historians will love our building and location, rich in Glenwood Springs and western history. Glenwood's premier brewpub is located in The Hotel Denver. Home to a variety of craft-brewed beers, Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company boasts a wall filled with local's choice awards and national medals for its quality beers and food. And, from handcrafted leather purses to one-of-a-kind jewelry made on site, to sensual clothing, the Hotel Denver shops offer unique and enjoyable indulgences.

The Hotel Denver is beautiful, with character, and they allow pets, however, there is no restaurant or room service, only a pub and other nearby fatty fare. Our room had a very weak air conditioner which could apparently only be fixed for a few hours at a time, very unfortunate since day-time highs were in the high nineties! It was "fixed" several times. We had to sleep with the windows open at night, and were woken by trains and partiers. We were promised a discount at check-out which ended up being a mere ten percent!

The Hotel Denver sits right across the street from the AmTrack station. I suspect that many who stay there come from Denver on the train.
Our room was a "Denver Room", which is in a new addition to the hotel. We were on the third floor, facing a side street, so it was quiet. The room, though not large, was very nice. The bathroom was clean, new, and fairly large, and everything worked properly. The bed was a pretty antique reproduction with tall posts, and the room had a very comfortable easy chair, a table and two chairs, and a TV with cable, and plug in or wifi internet.
The bathroom wall said that there were no shortcuts to anywhere worth going, and with respect to this room it was correct. You go from the art deco lobby to the second floor, then down a long hallway and up a set of stairs to the third floor, and then down a long hallway again. The brew pub next to the lobby was busy and noisy, with good food, better beer, and was sort of like a sports bar. There are quite a few local restaurants within a block or two, and a bridge across the river to the hot springs pool.
