Traveling to Anchorage? This is a great place to stay. Excellent views from many if not all of their rooms. Centered in the heart of Anchorage there are plenty of things to do and places to see within walking distance.

Only six miles from the airport and close to shops, restaurants, and you can see Cook Inlet and the Chugach mountains from your room. This hotel is certainly first class all the way. The rooms are nice and clean and tastefully decorated. The staff...
56 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
On a tour booked by Alaska Tours (stay away from), we stayed at Captain Cooks the first. We arrived at 10 p.m. We had booked our rooms 10 months earlier. There was my husband, myself and our 80 year old mother. They had our reservations, but put us on 2 separate floors. We were on the 7th floor and she was on the 10th. We asked to be on the same floor, but no could do!! There was no air conditioning, therefore the windows had to be opened. The street noise was very intrusive. Needless to say we were not happy. The rooms were clean. That is all I can say that was good about our stay.

We found it very accommodating. The room was excellently appointed with sufficient toiletries and linens. The restaurants and the shops were nice, too.
Besides the bed and the regular chairs, there was also a couch and a recliner in the room.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the The Hotel Captain Cook.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

As an Alaskan who travels to Anchorage once a month, I always stay here. The people are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and they have free wireless. The downtown location could not be much better. The best part is they are an Alaskan family owned and operated hotel, which to me is a big deal. You know the money you spend here stays in Alaska.
