Okay
The hotel is not new, however it is well kept. The room was clean, and quite large. My only complaint would be about the parking structure. I drive a large SUV...in the parking structure, there were bars hanging from the ceiling that actually...

Okay
The hotel itself is OK with its star rating. However, the security is an issue there. My daughter's purse was stolen from room, which includes money, gift cards and ipod worth over $200. After we reported, we didn't get much help, neither from stuff ...

Excellent
May is the month when the summer heat may begin -- or may not. Hotel rates are great, including at The Hotel Arizona, which is a beautiful pink building complete with a Spanish mural and nicely landscaped cacti out front. My room was huge, and the...

Good
We stayed here for a weekend event that was occuring in the downtown area. This is my second stay there. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. Security was good, and the staff was very helpful and upbeat. Close proximity to downtown...
Very clean and historic. Right in the heart of Downtown Tucson. Helpful staff. Even a fun nightlife inside the hotel afterhours. There is a fairly popular bar at the base of the Hotel.

Mediocre
The outside should have given us a clue as to what we saw on the inside. The entire building was old and run-down. The people at the front desk were unfriendly. The rug in the hallway as well as the one on our room floor was horribly disgusting....
28 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Its Saturday night and we wanted to go out on the town and have some fun. We decided to get a room downtown so we could go for dinner and drinks and not worry about driving. We arrived at the hotel to find that our reservations were incorrectly inputted into the computer for 5 rooms the night before. We were worried that our card may have charges from this but they assured us everything was taken off and we were given some $10 coupons to use in the hotel.
We then decided to head down to the pool for a refreshing dip in the hot Arizona sun. I was trying to step down the ladder into the pool and the first half of the rungs on the ladder were completely missing and I came very close to slipping.
After getting ready for dinner we decided to head down to the hotel bar for some appetizers while we waited for our friends. Our friends showed up and joined us at the bar and we were also joined by The Muppets on one of the TVs in the bar. The TV was distracting and annoying to all 4 of us and we were the only people in the bar so my husband asked the bartender if he could change the channel. The bartender said he wasnt sure what was on. We were having so much fun with our friends we didnt think about the bartenders comment until The Muppets broke their way into our conversation again. My husband then asked the bartender if he could change the channel again and the bartender told him he could change the channel on the big screen TV behind the bar. Again we went back to our conversation not paying much attention to the bartender until The Muppets broke through our conversation once again. My husband got up and asked the bartender to show him where the controls were for the big screen TV and how to change the channel. He asked the bartender if it would change the channel on the TV in the bar and the bartender said no. My husband asked him if he change the channel on the TV in the bar because we didnt want to watch The Muppets and the bartender told him he could just use the big screen TV. Now my husband was very upset and started arguing with the bartender but he wouldnt budge, my husband was so furious he dropped the F word into the argument and the bartender yelled at us and told us we would have to leave. We got our checks and went to the front desk to complain. When the manager came he listened to part of our story and basically told us the bartender had a different story and that was his domain. When I tried to pipe up and put in my two cents the manager wouldnt even look at me and told my husband the conversation was with him and my husband and not with me or our friends, who trying to explain also. The manager continued to argue and pointed his finger at my husband who was furious and I stepped up to the counter, interjected, and asked for the card of his boss. The night manager told me that his decision was final and it did not matter if I talked to anyone in the morning. I asked him to give me his card anyways. We left the hotel and went about our night trying to forget about the rudeness we experienced at the hotel.
In the morning my husband went to the front desk to talk to someone about the night before. He told the story to the clerk behind the counter. The clerk looked in the computer and saw that the night manager had put a note in our file not to give us any discounts for being unhappy. The clerk understood how we felt, was very nice, apologized, and gave us a discount and some more coupons. It wasnt about the money, although that helps you feel better, it was about the rudeness of the bartender and night manager. No one would listen to us and obviously with some of the night staff at the Hotel Arizona the customer is always wrong.

I stayed here on business and I had my family with me. The pool was opened and then closed for 3 days. My only problem was the hugh stains on the floor in our room. Housekeeping seem to only empty garbage and make the beds. It wasn't all bad. The...
