Great Place! Visited this hotel last summer and it was very nice. The interiors were immaculate and the views from the pool were exceptional. They served breakfast to our patio each morning which was very convenient. A lot of lawn which is rare for...

Very nice hotel throughout. Gorgeous views of the mountains. Attentive staff throughout my stay. Includes continental breakfast and even provides food-service, something I don't usually expect when visiting a small hotel like this. The interiors were first-class as well. I really enjoyed my trip to Palm Springs and especially the Horizon Hotel.
This place is great. We were looking for something different last time we went to Palm Springs and a friend told us about the Horizon. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived by the great architecture, the friendly employees, and the relax...
This hotel is cool. From the architecture, to the staff, to the comfort of the bed I enjoyed my experience. This place is great. I highly recommend it.
We stayed for 3 nights at the Horizon in April 2007. The place is simply gorgeous and well maintained. I felt transported back to the heyday of Palm Springs. The rooms are very tasteful and the outdoor shower was great. It was really nice to take ...
Stayed for a weekend and this is a beatiful hotel. Great service, beautiful spacious grounds, poolside bar and very comfortable rooms; what else could I ask for.
I just stayed overnight since I had to be out of my apartment for maintenance work. From my arrival onward, service was poor. The general manager didn't know how to run my credit card (he had to ask me for it twice). The bar and kitchen have...
I love this place. The hotel had an outdoor bar next to the pool. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are perfect with floor to ceiling windows, lcd's and mine had an outdoor shower. I think it's best place in the...

Closing for renovation to reopen as new world class boutique hotel; once reopened, the Cinderella makeover will transform The Horizon into a world class resort that appeals to the mid century modern enthusiasts and travelers who look for over the top amenities and lodging; offering spa services, yoga, fine spacious gardens and a history to intrigued anyone. The location of The Horizon is a best kept secret, breathtaking views of the Jacinto Mountain ranges, peak after jagged peak make this is truly one of the best views in Palm Springs. Built in 1952 for Jack Wrather (Producer Lone Ranger and Lassie) and wife Bonita Grandville; as a home with guest rooms for Hollywood elite designed by architect William Cody, the man of mid-century modern architecture in America. Unique design features include spacial angles of 108 and 72 degrees, there are no right angle walls. Another fabulous aspect of the hotel are the spacious gardens which all rooms open up, you are certainly not piled on top of your neighbors. If you choose seclusion that is available, the previous residence of Jack and Bonita boasts privacy with its very own pool and gardens. The Cinderella renovation includes a star cast: Architect Frank Urittia worked side by side with William Cody. He is approaching the project in terms of Cody's original vision. Interior designer Carla Kalwaitis of Palm Springs has a big celebrity following will be sensitive to the fifties era, without a fifties kitsch, and the ambiance of a 2004 modern touch. Luxurious frette linens, custom furnishings and cabinetry will give a look and feel of class and distinction. William Copelk will be adding more color and depth to the landscape creating more of a desert-type oasis. So if you want to feel like a Hollywood super star this is the place, as it was built for the Hollywood elite. Many famous celebrities have spent a fair share of time here from Walt Disney, Tom Ford of Gucci, Martha Stewart and Marilyn Monroe. My stay in the Marilyn Monroe's guest room has a view of the pool. She must have enjoyed swimming in the pool, watching the sun set over the desert mountains. The beginning of a long chain of people to be married on the grounds stared with Sy Bartlett and Patrician Owens. The Horizon continues to this day to hold special events in a beautiful garden setting. Additional changes include an on-site kitchen serving boxed lunches, breakfast delivered to your room, a poolside cabana style bar, entertainment away from the sun will feature sports, golf tournaments, and an eclectic mix of classic movies on a large plasma screen. On site yoga and pilates instructors will guide you to a healthier state of mind and being in the lush gardens. A day spa and salon will offer mineral scrubs, body wraps, massage in a relaxing ambiance. High speed wireless internet in the guest rooms offer a connection to the outside world if you so choose. Or you can simply ride the hotel's beach cruisers into town. If all of that is not enough, after a day of touring honor bars in all the rooms add to the non stop pleasure of The Horizon. . True hospitality at a modern lifestyle hotel is the name of the game. Owner Dave Scharf of Portland Oregon and Rich Campbell are initiating these transformations.
I am very likely
to return to the The Horizon Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
