45 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The Hempel is lovely to look at, and we loved the location. But the attitude of the staff is unbelievable - condescending, insulting, insufferable. The hotel hosted a party the last night of our stay. There was loud noise till 2 a.m. and - the really awful part - a blaring, terrifying fire alarm went off about 6 times.
In the morning, we requested a credit for our sleepless night. The manager insisted that we had been warned about the party. We had not, and told him so. He accused us of lying. He claimed we were the only people to complain, and treated us with barely contained hostility. It was an awful experience, which we want to protect others from.
