The Helmsley Park Lane Hotel

The Park Lane Hotel in NY is located on Central Park South in Midtown. Its a good location, especially if you have business in midtown as I did. Thats about the end of my positive commentary. Although you can get glimpses of the hotel's past grandeur, it is in dire need of a major face lift. The rooms, although functional, are not well configured for business travel (i.e. the high speed connection was on the other side of the room from the desk). The gym is small and not well equipped (2 treadmills and some weight machines) and the facility just has a tired look. Despite the fact that I got a pretty good rate, I will find another place to stay when I come back to New York.

The restaurant reservation was mishandled. I had to wait over thirty minutes due to the error.

I was satisfied, but they need to update the decor.

It is a very nice hotel to stay in. The comfort and the services were fine.

It's a great location. The restaurant is beautiful and overlooks Central Park. The rooms were very dated, and the hallways were dingy.
