We booked the room on line, and arrived to find a smokey, dirty, moldy room in dissarray. We should have left right then, but we wouldn't be spending much time there. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned. cobwebs, dust, stains on the ceiling, and bugs crawling about. Beyond that there were wires hanging from the ceiling, missing trim fixtures, lightbulbs out, a TV that only recieved a few staticky stations, peeling wallpaper, holes in the wall, and a tub that wouldn't drain.
We checked the slider to see if it was locked, and the lock was broken. There was a bar left there for us to secure the room.
During the night there was soccer teams partying right outside our door, complete with a barking dog chasing kids around. Yelling, running around and other loud noises right through the night. Repeated calls to the teenage girl at the desk during the wee hours were met with rude responses and little results. She acted like we were bothering her, no opologies, she just got huffie and hung up on us! In the morning room service tried barging in at 8:30, with no knock.
The next day I was told there was no manager on duty, and he only "checks in" during the weekend. I asked for acting manager or the person in charge and the girl said "no one is". I left a list of complaints with numbers to reach me at, but he didn't return my call. I have since called the manager several times, but he will not take my calls and will not return them.
I was told by a different girl at the desk that the hotel is owned by people who live out of the area, and she would not give me any contact info for them. She told me that they had hired a "management company" to run the hotel. What a joke! A hotel with no managers on duty, that seems to be run by a bunch of teenage girls. Totally unprofessional and out of control.
Even the breakfast room the next morning was a joke. Crumbs everywhere, no milk for the cereal even when requested, no knives for the butter, cold coffee and no cream. Just another teenage girl on her break outside smoking a cigarette.
I can forgive a lot of shortcomings of hotels, but when the management is not only non-existant and doesn't even have the decency to return calls? Unforgivable.
