The Grand hotel is in a great setting; right opposite the sea. A very grand building from bygone age. It is very close to the train station in Torquay. Parking appears a bit tricky - there is a garage around the back for a limited number of cars - that can also valet your car at a cost. Reception can also give you passes to park elsewhere.
Reception is beautiful and the staff most helpful.
Restaurant is in a lovely setting but quite expensive, i felt for food and drink. Only offers a set 4 course menu. Food however is lovely and service is very good.
One stop i had a great double room although paying less than other stay with a small, pokey single room.

The hotel is located immediately next to Torquay train station, so it's excellent for location. The decor of the main lobby and lounge is exactly what you would expect from a four star hotel, but the rooms are a little dated and facilities could have been better.
