50 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I have never been treated so rudely as I was by the general manager (P.J) at the Gibson Inn. When I first arrived, I asked if they had an elevator. She laughed at me and said "We're a quaint little inn, we don't have elevators". One evening she approached me to tell me that I could not make my own drink and bring it outside on the veranda, even though that is what everyone else was doing. The kicker, though, is that on my last day I left my room with the heater on. When I got back that evening, someone had turned up the AC full blast and it was about 50 degrees in my room. When I complained to P.J., she acted like she didn't believe me. When I stressed that I was not happy with the situation, she just crossed her arms and said "What are you going to do about it?". It was like being slapped in the face. I said "I guess I'll just complain about it" and that's what I'm doing. The rest of the staff were very pleasant and polite, like hotel staff should be to their guests.

Other than P.J. ruining my stay, the hotel was just okay, nothing special. The rooms were small. I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant because it was closed half the time I was there (in the mornings anyway). I did enjoy the hotel bar. Very friendly and talented bartenders.

I am not likely to return to the The Gibson Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It was fabulous, the entire staff made our weekend getaway everything we wanted and more. Prior to arriving, we let them know it was our anniversary and Chef David and wife Chef Ryanne delivered to our suite the most delicious meal we have had ever tasted. They really specialize in freshly grown and freshly caught local cuisine!

We stayed in suite 208/209 their Victorian living room bedroom suite over looking the bay bridge and historic Apalachicola. We really loved relaxing in the rocking chairs "Apalachi Style". They have a friendly staff and Victorian Flair like no other we've stayed at. The happy hour crowed on Friday nights is made up of some local character! I could have written a book for ya'll, but you'd better yet try it out for yourselves. We read about their Gourmet Wine weekend package celebrated monthly, and we will probably come back for that or their Murder Mystery Weekend! Thank you Chef Ryanne & David. Hats off to the bartenders too! Next time, we are trying your haunted room 309!

I am very likely to return to the The Gibson Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We spent the July 4th weekend in Apalachicola and at the Gibson Inn! The stay was everything we hoped it would be and more. Avenue Sea their restaurant has 5 star chefs and the weekend entertainment in their bar on the veranda was just what we need to slip back in time ~ Apalachi Style! We will be coming back in the fall! We want room 309 again! What a great room! Thank you to the wonderful staff at the front desk! We are bringing all our friends ~ See ya'll for your Murder Mystery weekend in October!

I am very likely to return to the The Gibson Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
