It was a wonderful location. It is not really handicapped friendly. They have very limited parking.

Our group had two adjoining rooms which was convenient for us. The rooms were not that clean though, and a big water bug was on wall over one of the beds. The hotel is old and rundown, but sitting on balcony over the water was fun. The best part of our stay was the bellman named Victor. He was so nice to us, and gave us advice about what to do and see in Galveston, and some history of the hotel....he was really very funny. Would go stay there again to see and listen to him again.

The only thing good about this hotel was the view. The elevators were sounded like they were about to fall apart, but the worst thing was the roaches. I was scared they would crawl in my sons ears at night, they were crawling on the nightstand, headboard, floor, everywhere. If you go here, don't forget your bug spray.

Do you want the Hilton or do you want a safe, clean, good location for shops, dining and fishing? The building was built in '65! Yes, it has had improvements but anything so close to salty water and air is going to corrode, etc. We had a very good experience for our 1st anniversary getaway. The room was nice and clean, the a/c worked very well and the view to the westward direction was nice. We loved fishing off the T-head for free and couldn't go wrong with a bait, snack shop right there too. Fishing allowed 24/7 with lighting during the nightime hours. The hotel was friendly. Continental breakfast was just that.....a continental breakfast (muffins, doughnuts, cereal, juice, coffee, fruit) it was just fine. Elevators were a bit tight (2 of them) but we did ok. Overall experience was good and we absolutely would go back to this hotel! Some people must be comparing to the Hilton! You just can't do that but for what we paid and what we enjoy doing, we feel we did well.

Spent honeymoon here 27 yrs ago, Used to be a nice place, not anymore. Bad smell, upper floor a/c units leaked water and flooded our balcony, very bad remodel job, dark and dingy, elevator made loud noise and shook all the way up. Looks nice from the outside. Not a good place to stay anymore. What a shame! Travel sites should not recommend this hotel.

Terrible experience! Truly filthy room, broken air conditioner, filthy bathroom. Hotel has fallen into deep disrepair! Beautiful view of the gulf. Travelers beware!! Stay away!
