From the moment I entered the hotel I knew it is going to be an amazing experience. This place provides an outstanding service, beautiful lobby and rooms. This is definitely a hotel no one would regret staying in and that I am going to visit again.

29 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Stayed here on a Friday night during a quick trip to Washington with my wife. It was an ideal location to Georgetown bars, restaurants and shopping. While you can take a taxi to Georgetown, it is only a 10 minute walk to the intersection of M Street and Wisconsin Ave.
The hotel itself was nice, however, as others have said some of the features are starting to show their age (some touch-up painting and flat screen tvs) could go a long way.
We had the Saturday brunch buffet at the restaurant in the hotel. For $25pp, it was nice, and a deal for what was served. Plus it beat waiting in line at La Madeleine in Georgetown (though if you are an early riser definitely go there).
One of my only complaints was that the parking was $30 overnight. While DC parking has gotten more expensive since I last lived there (10 years ago), $30 seemed more like NY prices than DC. At least my car came out without any new scratches (unlike NYC).
Overall, for $149/night, it was a great choice for hotels. Perfect location if you plan on going to monuments and Georgetown.
I am very likely
to return to the The Fairmont Washington, D.C..
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Very luxurious and clean hotel. Very expensive. Watch the $* a day for parking that tends to be a surprise. Good location. Restaurants are obscenely expensive so walk to Georgetown or take a drive up Connecticut Ave to chevy Chase for lunch or...

Its a good location, but its a heavily trafficked area. Plan to allow plenty of time for valet to retrieve your car as the hotel is popular for local meeting venues which tie up parking.
We like the Presidents Club Lounge area and the pampering there.

I thought the hotel was very nice. There was a problem with the key lock system and I could not enter my room for over thirty minutes. This was inconvenient. The bathroom tub was not properly cleaned. Otherwise it was a great stay.
They had a greeter at the door, and if the staff saw you looking lost they were very quick to come and ask how they could assist you.

I would not recommend it to friends.
