Location. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn sits on 13 secluded acres in Sonoma, Calif. Displaying the design of an architecturally accurate California mission, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn was constructed in 1926 and underwent major renovations in 1981 and 1997. The hotel's signature dining venue, Santé Restaurant, provides an extensive wine menu with more than 300 Sonoma and Napa wines while serving simple dishes made from fresh local foods. The location was very good, but the hotel was dirty, not in the sense they need to clean, but like someone had't been doing it for 20 years and they just started. Definitely needs new carpet in common areas and I discovered the grout in our bathroom was white (under furniture), black otherwise. Also, our room was next to check-in and drive up- very noisy and I couldn't sleep. We paid $150 a night and I felt it wasn't worth it.
