For more than a century, this romantic wine country resort has attracted travelers with its beautiful Mission-style buildings, attentive service and European-style spa.The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn has been the romantic haven for those seeking pleasure and health. The hotel was built in 1926, an architecturally accurate replica of a california Mission. Major renovations in 1981, and 1997 returned the landmark Inn to its 1920s grandeur. The hotel also offers a world class health spa with over 50 treatments and natural Artsian mineral waterpools. Set on 8 beautifully-landscaped acres an hour north of San Fransisco.

My wife and I live in the Bay area and the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is the best place to say, by far, while visiting Wine Country. The Mission suites and Junior suites are well worth the extra expense in order to enjoy the jet tub, fire ...
48 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for business
We have stayed twice in the last few years and are scheduled to return next month. The mission style decore is very romantic. Maybe we are just lucky but both visits we had our room upgraded, once to a small suite in one of the newer buildings that are scattered around the grounds, it had a wood burning fireplace and a beautiful bathroom with seperate tub and shower. Our most recent visit we were upgraded to a large suite in the main building. Both rooms had excellent beds, flat screen TVs and were spotless. The service was excellent in a casual sort of way. We enjoyed having lunch at the poolside restaurant. The prices for food were fine, not cheap but about what we would expect at a nice hotel. The spa is beautiful I spent the afternoon at the spa pool while my wife had a massage, is is much more quiet than the main pool.
Anyone staying at the SMI or any other Fairmont should join the Presidents club, it is a free frequent guest program. Members get free internet, and access to the spa area. It might work in your favor on getting a premium room. Many of the Fairmonts are older hotels and have a wide variety of rooms in the same rate category.
I am very likely
to return to the The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
I cannot say enough about this hotel.
