Location. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn sits on 13 secluded acres in Sonoma, Calif. Tucked within Northern California's wine country, this three-story structure is one-half mile from Sonoma Golf Club. The Sonoma Valley Museum of Art is two miles from the property and the Jack London State Historic Park is less than five miles away. Hotel Features. Displaying the design of an architecturally accurate California mission, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn was constructed in 1926 and underwent major renovations in 1981 and 1997. The hotel's signature dining venue, Santé Restaurant, provides an extensive wine menu with more than 300 Sonoma and Napa wines while serving simple dishes made from fresh local foods. The casual bistro, Big 3 Diner, is located on the northern part of the grounds and specializes in country-style breakfasts and American dishes. Fed with its own source of natural, thermal mineral water, the hotel's 40,000-square-foot health spa houses a fitness center, bath house, salon, mineral pool, café and boutique and offers massage treatments and spa services.
