We had a poor experience from the moment we arrived. Staff everywhere, yet no service was offered. Very disorganized and not customer friendly. We checked out and moved over to the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and had a fantastic time. The fairmont is a ...
Probably not the very best choice.

Mediocre
We stayed here over our Christmas Holiday. After staying at the Four Seasons Resort about three times we decided to stay here instead. We were not happy with our decision. The service here was no five star. The staff were not very friendly. When...
The surrounding view is spectacular. The rooms are fairly comfortable. Their restaurants are great but very costly. Their staff are very friendly and they greet you by your name. Amazing!! They provide bathrobes and enough towels to last you from...
50 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Just returned from a 7 night stay. There was a large group staying the hotel and it was clear that this was the focus. Loud music until almost 11PM on 2 nights. The room was ok. Nothing special. They charge a "resort fee" and charge for parking and almost nothing is included in your nightly rate.
If you are looking for a Hawaiian vacation, I would stay elsewhere. We found a restaurant at the hotel close by (the Canoe House), went was far superior to anything at the Fairmont.
The first time my wife and I stayed at this hotel, my wife was 6 months pregnant. We didn't know what to expect. We had been to all of the other islands but not the Big Island. We found this hotel through our travel agent. Our first impression...
73 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
It is located twenty miles from the Kona airport and it has a beautiful setting with outstanding service. We had a suite on the gold floor. A rental car is a necessity.
They greeted us with smiles and leisure. All the employees were friendly, several calling us by name whenever we encountered them.
I am very likely
to return to the The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
42 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My husband and I spent the week of our honeymoon at the Orchid. This was our first stay there although I had dined at the hotel during prior visits to Hawaii. The room we had was clean, well-kept and comfortable. It is obvious that this is an older hotel--but I would say that they have done a good job of keeping up the place. The beach was beautiful and both the pool and beach were relatively quiet--no problems finding an empty beach lounge and ordering Margarita from the roaming waiters! We particularly enjoyed eating outside at Mrs. Browns where there was a nightly band playing Hawaian music and a hula dancer. I also found that the massage therapists at the spa were amazing! I get a lot of massages but have to say that a couple I got during my stay here were really unbelieveable. I especially enjoyed the massage I had outside in a hut next to a flowing stream. I would definitely go back for another stay.
all around we loved the beach, the room, the service was wonderful ,the view, was breathtaking, the snorkeling was amazing, the only thing we disliked was the food and drink...
