The Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica sits atop the scenic bluffs of Santa Monica Beach, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and infamous Santa Monica Pier. The historic five-acre site features a main building, a 10-floor tower, and a community of single and double story bungalows, and features the more ocean view rooms than any other Santa Monica hotel. The hotel was originally built as a private mansion in 1898 and soon became known throughout the country as the "White House of the West" due to the frequent stream of congressional visitors and celebrities of the time. The property opened its doors as a hotel in 1921.
