Okay
Upon check-in, I found half cups of coffee , a half-eaten can of Pringles, crumbs on the floor and trash on the tables. However, the beds were made so the previous occupants may have visited the room after it was made. My city view room looked at a ...

Excellent
This place is really the best. For the money I paid and the service by all of the staff, I would have stayed longer and will stay there again. Plus an added bonus everything is close to the hotel, in walking distance. Somewhat disappointed with...

Mediocre
I had a very bad experience at this hotel on Oct 2, 2008. First off, you have to drag your suitcases up and down a steep stairway with no bellhop. When I was going up to my room, the maid was dragging two big plastic garbage cans out of the ONLY...

Okay
We spent one night at this hotel. We chose it because we were taking the Super Ferry very early the next morning and we wanted to be at the north end of Waikiki. Hotel was clean. Room was noisy because the hotel is on the main drag. A lot of...

Mediocre
It's been said before but I didnt think a hotel could really be that noisy! I stayed in 3 different rooms and all were noisy. Outside road noise and continous slamming of door noise in the morning (must be the maids and people going for bkft). Beds...

The Equus' rooms look ok inside. If you decide to stay there, make sure to get the 2 bed instead of the king size bed room. The room with the king size bed had a dirty looking lanai and sliding doors that led to it. The glass is very thin, so you end up with a ridiculous amount of noise in your room, and a hotter room too since the ac escapes through the cracks. The double bed room was cooler, darker, and fresher (newer also). We stayed there several nights and the maid service only provided us with toiletries for the first night. We had to go personally downstairs every day and get the toiletries the rest of our stay. They only sort of made the bed. We never got clean cups or toilet paper. What you got on your arrival was all. The elevator was being worked on, so there was no elevator from 11 am to 5 pm. We had to go up several flights of stairs with our toddler. The pool was out of service too FYI, but we didn't care since we spent our time elsewhere. The furnishings in the king size bed room were scraped and worn out, but the 2 bed room had nicer furniture. The desk people were very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast is very basic, so don't expect anything grand. Fruit, a cold pastry and juice. Like most places in Waikiki, the hotel is close to everything. My suggestion is if you can, don't rent a car. Parking is ridiculously overpriced and limited. The three of us (we're not the fittest of people either...) walked and rode the bus and had a blast. You meet the locals and get some adventures. Lugging a toddler around wasn't bad, so if we can do it, you can do it. The beds were very comfortable. I wrote this as objectively as possible, and I did not exagerate. Promise! Have fun!!

Okay
We booked into the Equus after having previously staying at the Aqua Wave (which by the way is fantastic). This Aqua was less desireable in that it had a small flight of stairs to a small lobby, shaky elevator, and not at all close to the beach. ...
