37 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We were hotel people before staying at the Eliza, forever converted by this Inn's hospitality.
The staff is friendly and professional, yet still make you feel like family. It is located on Jones street (one of the most photographed streets in America) which set you right in the center of the historic district. The Mercer house is on the next street over.
The beds are so comfortable you might just want to sleep you day away if not for the amazing breakfast buffet, its definitely not continental. The food and atmosphere are warm and comfortable. I stayed with my two teenage children and we had such a good time we extended our stay.
Unfortunately our room was already booked to another traveler, but the staff was kind enough to find us another room that was equally special and afforded us the opportunity to stay in the main house and in the courtyard. Both are highly recommended.
Not if, but when, we return to Savannah we will stay at the Eliza Thompson House again.
