This is the nicest hotel I have ever been in. Normally this would have been more that I would pay for a hotel room. Excellent rooms and location. Very beautiful interior.

pros: Can't beat the localeThis place is beautiful from the outside, but some of the rooms are quite dated. The location at the north end of Michigan Ave, with the lakefront path and Oak Street beach steps away, is perfect.
The service at the Drake was lousy and the rooms sucked. I wouldn't stay there again if you paid my way. I'd rather stay at the Marshall. At least folks there are friendly and they have an elevator, sort...
pros: HistoricI was expecting so high class hotel, but it did have a funky old smell to it. Maybe they need to seal the brick walls from the rooms. I dont know, all i know is it was creapy. I rather have stayed at The W.

27 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
For the money, it is the worst value around. You have to pay extra for wireless, workout facilities, business center printing, etc. each time you use the service! For $350/night I expect that stuff thrown in -- For god sake, Holiday Inn's have that stuff for free.
It is very pretty though and the rooms are nice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
I agree with alot of the people here though when they say the building is old. They have done the best they can to hide it's age, but you can only do so much.
