The Fox and Hounds Hotel is situated within Dartmoor National Park and is a very popular destination for walkers and day-trippers to the moor. The moor is accesed directly via a trackway behind the Hotel. In addition to our Hotel accomodation we also have modern camping and caravanning facilities (offering wheel chair access), also our Camping Barn offering YHA hostel accommodation. There are Two bars, a restaurant, games room with pool and darts, beer garden and children?s play area outside. Notably we have a skittle alley which doubles as a function room and has its own bar and is available for booking for parties. We also have a classroom which can be booked for visiting school parties.

female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Stayed recently with my son while in town to visit friends. The beach club was a basic do it yourself atmosphere. We were quite obvious as the beach club was filled with elderly locals. I felt uncomfortable allowing my son and his friends to splash around in the pool and play. The hotel was the same constipated atmosphere. The Florida version of the Shining! It may work for some but it it not my cup of tea.

I had stayed at the colony 2 years ago not impressed but somehow got wrapped into staying there again because of the good location, and wow i had a great experience. The staff were beyond attentive and friendly. The food menu was perfect for both...
26 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
It is in a fun area and felt charmingly old school inside, however, I didn't care for the service. I was made to feel as though I was burdening the staff when I had even a simple question. Kennith from housekeeping and Josh whom works at the front desk, were the only two people in the entire resort who never said no and always stepped up to the plate despite the hotels ridiculous restrictions. Beware of a rainy day in Florida! Lunch will no longer be served at the Colony Cabana Club and if you look forward to their complimentary breakfast. And you’d better get there early because this "complimentary luxury" that's costing you $300 per night will be cleared away up to an hour early for some other lame reason. Internet access is not in all rooms and the staff left their brains and eye contact at home.

Staff here is angry and rude. Tables have old food smeared over tops. A very rude old man with a mop slinging water around the room and snarling at guests if they are in his way (eating breakfast)....
