Went to Sunday lunch and limited selection of nonfried foods. Ordered the Marimated Lam Pita - I swear it was very bland roast beef. Honestly I would not have served that at home never the less in a restaurant. Based upon limited contact would ne

Excellent
My wife and I have been to the Cliff House 4 times over our 17 years together. We stayed in the Ledges, Clifftop, CliffScape. We found that the older the room, the less we were impressed. We always found the staff to be friendly and helpful....
My friend and I visited the spa for a day away from it all. I left more stressed out than I was when I got there. My facial was terrible; I felt like I went through a carwash in a convertible! She had no real info. about my skin. All she did was a...
I was very disappointed with the Cliff House. The room was antiquated...ceiling tiles out of place, very 1980s, and there were bugs in the corner of the bathroom. I would not return the property. The Ledges are desperately need updating. No...

The kids sent us here for our 50th wedding anniversary. They couldn't have chosen better. The room had a spectacular view of the shore and the lighthouse. The breakfasts were the best I've ever had with a great variety too. Dinners were very...

The hotel had an efficient, courteous, well trained, upbeat staff. I appreciated the quality of food and service in dining room dinners and breakfasts, the view from my room, the well groomed and clean grounds, the ease of parking and the convenience to a
The setting on a cliff overlooking the Maine coast and the dining room staff made me feel relaxed.

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The price was high, the room was average, the staff and owner were inconsiderate. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Don't be fooled by the high-end web site and the seaside view. This is a mediocre stay at best. What makes it a terrible hotel is the total lack of customer service.
I booked a spa room for 1 night and knew from the moment I hit the check-in desk that I had wildly overpaid. The reception staff was nothing special, valet was strictly self-service, the bedspread was polyester and the room had a nice view of the parking lot below. I immediately asked for my money back and was told that I needed to e-mail the owner who would get back to me in a couple days. Of course, the reception staff would not even let me use their computer to send an e-mail. While I was waiting 45 minutes to speak with the reception manager, one of the staff bragged to me about a guest who was hospitalized mid-stay and was still forced to pay the whole bill. Nice!
The staff and owner have no clue when it comes to customer service! I gave them the chance to make good (since I did not use the room.) The owner refused and said I was irrational when I said I would post my experience on Trip Advisor and other web sites. Well here it is! I feel confident that this review will cost the Cliff House more than the $350 they owe me.

In summary, the Cliff House "could" be one of the great New England places to stay, but the owners prefer to keep it average, at best. The view of the ocean is spectacular if you are in the right room, but a grand view does not make up for...
