The Churchill's interior displays a stately elegance that one would not expect from the outside looking in. This boutique hotel offers a small restaurant and cafe but all of the conveniences that it's Dupont Circle location has to offer.

Firstly, I would like to point out that the hotel was going to through many renovations. The front staff told me that due to the way the pipes ran they had to renovate the rooms based on "plumbing sections." Essential they would work on the same room vertically in the hotel. This meant that while my room and other rooms in the hotel were completed similar rooms on each floor were still getting work done to them. The renovations were needed and they are nicely done so be patient because this place will be a gem again in the Dupont area.

I spent 4 nights at this very nice hotel while attending a conference in DC. The hotel is quite accessible to Dupont Circle and the surrounding embassy row. I was a quick walk to many local restaurants around the area and the metro was also within walking distance. The hotel location made this ideal when staying in the Dupont Circle area.

The hotel room that I stayed in was very nice it had just been updated. The beds were mostly firm with a slight plushness to them. The down comforter was a nice addition. The interior of the room was very nice with a decorative wall paper. The lighting the room could have been a little brighter. I was trying to read and if you do not sit near a light then it was difficult in other parts of the room. During the day there was an abundance of natural light that filled the room and made it feel wonderful. The windows could fully open and there wasn't an abundance of street noise so during this nice fall day it was relaxing to sit in the room with a cool breeze. The bathrooms were small but provided the amenities that were needed. The front desk staff was very nice and provided many business services such as faxing. They also provided coffee in the morning for staying guests.

The Churchill has recently redone its dining area and bar area. I did not eat at the restaurant but my boss did and said the food was okay. The bar was a nice place to grab a drink with a very nice decor. Definitely a place to wind down after a day of meetings with a few colleagues and enjoy a drink and conversation. The bartender had told me they were in the progress of getting a flat panel TV but at the time I was there they had yet to install.

I am somewhat likely to return to the The Churchill Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
