pros: locationeverything we read suggested that this was one of boston's finest. we weren't impressed. its greatest strength is its location; newbury street and the prudential tower (which is a must) sit just around the corner. the hotel and its...

We stayed at this hotel in November. The location was great - across from the Boston Public Library on Boylston. We had a room on the first floor which was small but the price was right - under $150. I would stay here again. It's close to Newbur
This hotel just oozes "cool." The greyscale color scheme with pops of red, dim lighting, hip bar and installation pieces throughout are all very purposefully chosen. Directly across the street from the Boston branch of the Public Library, within sight of the amazing blend of architecture that Copley Square has to offer, and blocks from dining, shopping and several excellent theaters. This boutique hotel is close to everything in Boston. The rooms are small but sufficient and very pretty. Our room still needed some ceiling work, which is why I rated this hotel a 9 and not 10. The staff was very nice, we enjoyed the breakfast and friendly bar. As Boston is "the walking city" The Charlesmark lends a hand in being close to restaurants and the subway. We would definitely stay there again.
My room was very small and lacked a table and chair which I found very inconvenient. Be sure you don't get a room over the alley where they collect the trash at 2:30am. Other than that it was ok, clean and near what I wanted to do. The price...

Good
Charlesmark is located in a great area -- close to restaurants, shops, sights-to-see. The hotel is small -- but that worked just fine. Water pressure is great. The bed was very comfortable. Normal city and hotel noises, but nothing that interrupted...
