I stayed here for two nights. The place has charm. You have to remember that is is an old hotel. It is not some sort of 'chain hotel. I am in the military- i travel all over the country every week. it was a nice change of pace. It was like staying over a friends house.

The service was great. The rooms were clean. The comlimentary breakfast was plentiful. The location was great, downtown and easy to get to. Two great restaurants right next store and 5 more withing walking distance.

Excellent
The Charles Inn was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway in Maine. The rooms are clean, the amenities were very nice, and the staff is wonderfully helpful. The location of the Charles Inn was convenient as well.
We did not enjoy our stay at the Charles Inn. It smelt of smoke and it was very dusty. There is an Art Gallary in the lobby that was very nice. Also you could use te computer along with internet acess. The breakfast was horrible. Beds were...
