Breakfast buffet is a misstatement. When you arrive for breakfast, you're given a menu from which you can choose one entree. Many are "sold out" halfway through the serving time. The only buffet items are breads and pastries (complete with a sign to not eat too much so later arriving guests can have some) and some cereals. No fruit. No other side dishes.
This morning, I had the strawberry French toast souffle. 2.5" square ... I kid you not. Cold. With a dollop of whipped cream on the side and cold syrup. Yesterday, it was soggy quiche (heated in the microwave so the crust was tough) and cold breakfast potatoes. My husband had the same (cold) potatoes today, with scrambled eggs and sausage.
Tables are crammed in a too small area with no room to walk between the tables. There's never enough room to sit comfortably; it's not uncommon to have to wait for a table. And, once seated, it's too crowded to get back up and serve yourself more juice and coffee. Kids often are sitting on their parents laps, which pushes the tables out further and lessens the walking around space. AND, you bus your own table. Get the idea that breakfast isn't special?
Evening hors d'oeurves are a misnomer, too. Veggie tray ... ordinary crackers and cubes of cheese, sliced salami, and olives. Same two nights in a row.
The late night chocolate chip cookies are nice. I can't imagine being here with kids, however, as there are no juices or milk -- hot tea and coffee only.
On other fronts -- the bedroom. Our experience is better than some of the other postings. The room was clean (dusty light fixtures). But , our bed covering was soiled when we arrived. Fortunately, our request for it to be washed resulted in a brand new quilt. The room was nice -- a corner room with a nice alcove. Unfortunately, the window locks were missing (2nd floor) so the street noise couldn't be kept out.
The owners don't live in (in fact, no one does). It shows. IF it were advertised as a hotel with light breakfast, we'd have expected this.
But, it's not a standard B&B in terms of service, amount or quality of food, or ambience.

Okay
Friendly and helpful staff but owners don't seem to actively participate in the operation. We didn't meet them during our 3 day stay. Good location. Very small rooms. Small guest common area (living room). Good breakfasts.
