40 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

They turned my son away from a romantic weekend he had planned with his girlfriend, because he is under their minimum age requirement. (He is 19). The manager told me that they even turn away young adults age 25.

I was in charge of making reservations for my whole family. I spoke with the reservations and told them I needed 1 room on the oceanfront and 2 ocean view and that they all needed to be together. When we arrived, we were told there were no more oceanfront and that no rooms together, at least we were on the same floor. What they don't tell you is that you have to pay an additional $7.50 a night to park in the oceanfront parking lot or you can have valet service to park in the lot on the hill. So that's the beginning of our experience. The 1st morning that we were there the fire alarm went off in our room for no apparent reason at 6am, so my husband just turned it off. 30 minutes later security was at our door to make sure everyting was alright. The next day my brother, nephew and daughter was stuck in the elevator for about 10 minutes before they were helped out. The next day at 4am the fire alarms went off in the whole hotel, we were told to evacuate the building as fast as we could. We never made it off the 6th floor, because of the congestion..thankfully it was a false alarm or we'd been stuck. Never were there any apologies. We stayed for 4 nights and not once did we have any wash cloths. Our room had empty boxes in it when we arrived, and still had dirty towels in the bathroom. The best thing I can say about this hotel is the outdoor pool is nice and the breakfast was nice. I wouldn't stay here again nor would I advise anyone else too. It's not worth the price nor the aggravation. Most of the staff could barely speak english so that was annoying too. Go somewhere else to stay.

49 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We got here and the bathroom was nasty. No wash cloths other than the dirty one hanging on top of the shower curtain. My daughter got stuck in the elevator for 10 minutes and had to get on top of a chair that was let down to her so she and my other relatives could climb out of elevator. Phone didn’t work, but a nice gentleman repaired it very promptly. Our fire alarm went off in our room at 6 o’clock in the morning. Then the security came to our door at 6:30 to make sure everything was all right. Next night fire alarm went off at 4:00 in the mourning and we were told to evacuate. We are six floors up and theres so many people trying to get out you couldnt get down the steps. Oh yelli forgot about the reservations. We ask for three rooms together, i guess as long as there on the same floor thats together, asked for beach side, they just happened to run out right befor we got here.....? And they dont tell you about the parking. Its 7$ extra to park in the parking lot. They do have valet parking though. Be sure to ask for extra toliet tissue everyday because one roll is all thats alotted to your room. I know that sounds like plenty but with four in a room and the sickness you never know.... Have a great vacation just dont have it here.

The pool was dirty and it was always freezing, even the indoor one.

I am somewhat likely to return to the The Cavalier.
I might recommend it to friends.
