Posted Jul 07, 08 by LDBW26, 1 reviews
35 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I have never seen so many roaches in my life. If you can stay in a better motel please do, dont let the location fool you. This hotel is very dirty, the elevators dont work, the rooms are filthy, the linens need to be burned and the carpet replaced.

The bathroom in all of the rooms that I was moved to were so dirty that I was afraid to use it. I wouldnt put my luggage on the carpet, because the staines were unrecognizable. The refrigerator in my first room, was infested with roaches, I had to request that it be removed, but that was a mistake. As soon as the refrigerator was moved the roaches began to crawl over everything. My television didnt work, the bedspread had cigarette burns all over it and I was supposed to have had a non smoking room.

The lock on the door, wouldnt work even after having 3 sets of keys made, maintenance had to fix the door, that didnt happen until 2:00 am, after I made the complaint about being locked out at 6:00 pm. Parking was supposed to be free, I had to pay $25.00 cash upon check in, I had to pay $10.00 for use of an iron and I didnt have a phone in my room. The pool is in need of a good cleaning and the view of the homeless tent village under the interstate, that was maybe 20 yards from, the hotels front door, was depressing.

Please dont stay at this hotel, this hotel needs to be torn down, it isnt fit for sick animals, let alone people. The homeless that reside in the tents next to the hotel have better accommodations than this hotel. The hotel had mold everywhere and smelled awful. The hotel that is advertised on the Canal Street Hotel Website, is not the hotel that I stayed in. This hotel is falsely advertised, the hotel on the website was nice and clean with a roof top pool. The hotel I visited was a dump.
