Located in Colorado Springs at the foot of the Rockies, The Broadmoor provides an environment of unparalleled beauty and luxury. One of the few resorts in the country to have earned the Mobil Five Star and the AAA Five Diamond ratings every year since the awards were established, the Broadmoor is proud to provide guests with the finest in accommodations and services. The resort was founded in 1918 by Spencer and Julie Penrose, a couple who made a fortune in gold and copper mines. After traveling all over the globe, they decided to bring the world of opulence and elegance that they had experienced in Europe and the Orient to the city that they had chosen as their home. Since then, the resort has grown from a hotel that catered to millionaires with polo ponies to a world-renowned destination for professional meetings, vacations, and spa treatments. Known for its gentle climate and dry mountain air, the Broadmoor has been providing visitors with the perfect spot to work, relax, or enjoy a myriad of recreational possibilities for over 75 years. For a detailed history of the Broadmoor and the Colorado Springs area see Broadmoor Memories - The History of the Broadmoor by Elena Bertozzi-Villa. This hardcover book with hundreds of photographs is on sale in most local bookstores.

The unique location is close to the mountains yet close to all the amenities of a big town. I have stayed here on several occasions. I like the fact that this five star hotel allows you to bring your pet.
I was showing seven of my RN friends the lovely Broodmoor on a reunion outing. We stopped in for some wine and to check out the grounds for a future booking. A waitress in training spilled red wine on one of my friends (top and bottom) and all we...
