My husband and I took our 3 sons (3-15 years) and my father-in-law to Breakers in August 2008. We had been to Myrtle Beach before but this was the first time at Breakers. We had the BEST time. We loved the Papa's Breakfast Buffet that is included

Excellent
This hotel is so nice. It has something for everyone. It is oceanfront and has large rooms and suites. The kids love the lazy river and I love the cleanliness. If you are going to Myrtle Beach this is the place to stay.

We just got back from a week at the Breakers. We had a one bedroom suite on the 12th floor of the Paradise Tower. We were highly impressed with the hotel overall and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone. This is a great place to stay for families. The only minor issue we had was with check-in. The process is a bit confusing when you drive up to the hotel and there isn't much room for parking while you are unloading. People get uptight and it gets kind of crazy. You basically pull up in front of the hotel, stop your car, go check in and then unload onto a cart while you leave your car there. This causes a bit of an issue if you are blocking someone else from being able to move their car. Check in seemed to be crazy every day of the week. Check in time was 3pm and each day you could tell when people were checking in because the parking area in front of the hotel was crazy and the elevators were full of people with tons of bags and carts. This is NO BIG DEAL and once you've been there once, you figure it out and we'll know better how to handle checking in next time. There are several nice places to eat right near the hotel and Papa's restaurant, right across the street and part of the hotel, is very nice-we had a great buffet breakfast there and ordered breakfast from room service several times also. The room service took 15 minutes max and the food was great and hot! The elevators were fast and there was virtually no waiting at all. The carpeted hallways of the hotel are glass from floor to ceiling with great views of inland Myrtle Beach. Our room was clean with two double beds in the bedroom, a kitchen, bath and a living room with a sofa bed and a wall bed. Our room was oceanfront and we had a nice balcony with a fabulous view. Each afternoon, the hotel had a dj down by the pool that played great tunes and the hotel on the other side of our hotel had live music which we also got to enjoy from our balcony. The room was clean and all of the furniture was in great condition including flat screen tv's in both the bedroom and the living room. The bathroom was spacious, appearing new and clean. The kitchen is fine. The stove appeared to be new, but the fridge was older and the cabinets were a bit under the weather...not a big deal to us, though. There was an icemaker in the fridge, so no running to an ice machine to get ice, which was nice. The beds were soft and a better quality than your average hotel bed. Maid service was good. They did a good job of tidying up each day. The pool area was great! The hotel features a lazy river, two hot tubs, a baby pool, a 5ft. pool and the wading pool under the pirate ship. The pool area is completely enclosed, so you don't have to worry about your kids wandering. I was traveling with an 8 year old and a 4 year old and the pool was adequate to keep both of them occupied for the entire week. There are plenty of tubes provided for the lazy river and it's heated. The pirate ship was good for the younger and older kids alike. It's difficult to find a place to sit by the pool. You are not allowed to "save" chairs by the pool before 9am. I think a lot of people rushed down at 9am to put their towels on chairs to get a seat. We never did that, but we went to one of the local beach stores and bought a beach chair and that worked just fine for us. By 2 or 3pm, the lounge chairs began to empty out and we were able to get a seat then, which was fine. The hotel also provides beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach for rental, although we didn't use this service and I have no idea how much it was or how you go about renting them. The beach was clean and BUSY. Lots of people on the beach. There were lifeguards on duty at the beach all day each day. No lifeguards at the pool. Overall, this was a fabulous vacation for us. My kids loved it. My husband and I loved it. The Breakers will probably see us again next year. Highly recommended. We could've easily stayed in the hotel for the entire vacation and had a fabulous time without ever having to venture out to find things to do. I was worried by the negative reviews that I had read online about the Breakers, but they must be flukes because we had no negative experiences with our stay at all. More people who have a GREAT time need to post reviews. Think about it...you go on vacation and hate your hotel, so you rush back home and quickly type a negative review because it was awful. BUT...if you have a great time, you may not rush home to type a review so quickly...because it's not such a big deal. This place was great and we loved it!

My husband and I booked our room through expedia at The Breaker's Resort. At first we were very excited about staying there, the pictures looked amazing. But when we arrived, it was a whole different story. That night, we laid down to go to bed. I kept smelling urine, a really strong odor. I told my husband to get out of bed, so I could look at the covers. When we got up, we have a huge spot on our sheets soiled in urine. Needless to say, I was outraged. When we went down stairs, the guy working told us the sheets were probably stained. I told him I would go get the sheet and he could smell it and tell me if it was a stain or not. He gave us new sheets but told us we would have to use the sheet as a blanket because he didn't have any more blankets. When I asked him why he did not seem to be concerned with the situation, he responded by saying well last week was biker week so it probably just got overlooked. I was infuriated. The next morning, we spoke to management about the situation, they did not care at all. It was like it was no big deal. They refused to refund any of my money, so I have had my credit card company reverse the charges. Piece of advice, DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! Obviously, they do not clean their linens which is absolutely disgusting. Also, we were kept up all night because the room next to us had a crying baby. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything. But if you would like a clean room to stay in then you will not find it at the Breaker's resort.

Good
I used to go to the beach every summer and stayed at the Paradise Tower at this result each time. The accommodations are nice and very spacious, and I've never had any problems with the rooms being clean or sanitary. It has a great central location...

Excellent
This is an upscale hotel that usually tends to be one of the more expensive on the beach. If you are looking for a hotel that is well decorated and has many, many creature comforts, this is the place for you.

Great hotel in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The Breakers is the best place we've stayed in Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed having restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We also loved the extras like music at the pool and in the lounge. The staff was very helpful, and the rooms were nice and clean for the money. We would definitely stay at The Breakers again!
I am very likely
to return to the The Breakers Resort Paradise Tower.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Family entertainment at the beach.. This was our first time at the Breaker's after 14 years of going to Myrtle Beach with the family. We were thrilled with the activities for the grandchildren. It kept them busy for most of the day. It is trully a family oriented resort
