I have about 3000 nights in hotels in the last 20 years. I'm in the Blake hotel now about to check out, never to return. The hotel was 'Modernized' by a NY group. NY gloomy glitz in the lobby doesn't extend past the front door of the elevators. Parking (no valet) is almost 300 yards away. you have to walk with your luggage past convention ballrooms and meeting space on multiple levels to get to check in. Parking is 10 a day. Internet is also charged. you have to offer your credit card to a third party and it only works if your room is near a router. The flat panel tv was nice but only offered a few channels, no Fox and CBS without audio. The AC works great, a plus for me. The bath has no towel hanger anywhere in the shower area, a immovable glass wall between you and the controls and floods the floor, so you either mop or stand in water at the sink. Rusty brown water floods the bath or sink when it's first turned on so watch out if you're making coffee in room. The hotel looks like it was designed by a 20-year-old second year design student who thought things looked cool but had no idea how people use a hotel room. After the makeover, the original doors and tub and other areas still remain, paint chipped and scratched. One big plus, the people at the front desk were friendly and willing. The bad was their lack of training. Apparently the upper management didn't bother. I wondered why it had such a great rate compared to Hampton Inn and similar and now I know.

If you are thinking about this hotel, don't do it! It was the worst hotel experience that I have ever had. Your first impression is that the lobby looks great. Well, this is where it stops because the rest of the hotel is in utter ruins. We were

We were set to stay at The Blake for two nights while attending a conference, but checked out after the first night. When we first got in the room, the view was of their connecting building where the stucco had fallen off leaving us with a less tha

Hotel Staff were outstanding, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to recommend restraunts and offer shuttle service.
Rooms, however, were dark and worn. Heat was hit and miss...some rooms freezing, some rooms baking. Conference rooms...
Why did I give it a "1?" Because ZERO wasn't an option!! My experience here was so awful, I don't even know where to start. No bell captains, no valets, a 10-minute walk to the very expensive parking garage, no room service, nowhere to buy a bottl

Mediocre
The lobby is nice but it is deceiving. The walk from the parking deck is not pleasant, it is an OLD building with lots of pink carpet. You get to the lobby finally and can hardly find the 2 elevators, or the stairs. With 10+ floors you need more...
