This is a very expensive hotel for an average/poor experience. The pipe under our sink came undone & water poured onto the floor. We reported this 3 times. It was "repaired" 3 times. The last time worked when metal was used to hold the pipe up so it would not disconnect. No apologies given. When reported to the front desk they acted as though we were a bother. We just wanted the problem fixed before the next occupant had to go through what we had.

Also, check your bill carefully. A charge we did not make was added on the morning we were leaving. It was not listed on our early morning check out sheet which was slipped under our door. Luckily we did check our bill before paying. While waiting to have our bill corrected, two other individuals were trying to have their bills fixed.

The wireless room internet does cost $9.95 per day. The information on this site is incorrect.

Not worth almost $400 per night. For that you could stay within Yosemite park.

The hotel was quite attractive as was the room, but that was about it. You could hear every noise from people who were passing your doorway (loud or quiet). The walls must be made of paper! The dining room which was highly touted in many guides was expensive and the food was at best mediocre. All in all, this was not a good experience. Would never stay there again.

The Tenaya Lodge is a gorgeous property in a peaceful setting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and full of tips for your trip. Being located outside of the park, visitors have the freedom to explore more than just Yosemite. Oakhurst is close by and full of great restaurants and Bass Lake is nearby as well for water enthusiasts.

The Sierra Restaurant provides great dining and the Jackalope Bar has a more relaxed atmosphere with sports on TV over the bar.

The rooms are tastefully decorated with featherbeds and down comforters and are just comfy all the way around.

One of the biggest perks for me is that Tenaya Lodge is pet-friendly! When reserving a room, just note that you will be bringing a pet and they will treat your pet like a guest as well. We had a dog bed (they asked my dog's size so the bed was appropriate), the use of a retractable leash and a bowl as well as a squeaky toy and a bag of treats, talk about a pampered pooch! In addition, Tenaya seemed extremely family friendly with two pools for the kids to play in. For the adults, there were spas, workout rooms and all kinds of personal pampering available.

It is about 45-60 minutes to the valley floor (depending on traffic), but the drive there is gorgeous and shows the diversity of the Yosemite Valley. By staying at Tenaya, a visitor can enjoy the amazing visits to the Awahnee or Yosemite Lodge but have a few more choices for dining or recreation.

On a personal level, I hope the Tenaya stays relatively "undiscovered" so that I have a quiet fun place to stay, but the Tenaya truly is the best place to stay at Yosemite.

An experience to remember! fmehkeri – Posted Apr 02, 07

This was a great hotel with a great big price. It was expensive and not located near the entrance of the park (Approx 40 minutes away). The restaurant was great, but a bit pricy as well.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.
I might recommend it to friends.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Rooms are quite luxurious. Jackalope's Bar and Grill is great for casual dining. Look out for special rates at certain times of the year.

This hotel has an excellent location, comfort and service. I recommend the hotel. I disliked the flashlight tour, though.

This hotel made me feel content: The hotel made me feel content because it had easy access and parking, it was beautiful to look at inside and out, it was very clean, comfortable and well maintained inside and out, it had very pleasant and efficient staff and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays. A local sightseeing tour van picked us up at the door and they had wonderful restaurants. They offered a great mid week special, which brought the price of the room into our price range.

I am very likely to return to the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Most impressive resort. Nicely decorated rooms appear newly renovated. Helpful staff. Located close to Sugar Pine Railroad and Mariposa Grove but one hour away from Yosemite Valley proper. On site restaurants have good food but expensive. Recommend eating at the Mountain House restaurant 20 minutes away.

I am very likely to return to the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
