We stayed at the Te Tiare resort over our honeymoon - it was our first stop en route to the Hotel Bora Bora (see my review) and we wanted to stay on a less developed island. Huahine fit the bill and, while the Te Tiare is certainly very nice, it suffers in comparison to the perfection of Bora Bora. That said, if you went to Te Tiare only, you'd have a great time.

Huahine has less resorts and more locals than the islands of Bora Bora and Morea. We arrived at the hotel via a boat - the fastest way to get into the city given the poor condition of the roads. I highly recommend renting a scooter to drive around the entire island to see the bay and other sights - it only takes a few hours to circumnavigate Huahine, and that includes stopping for a lot of photos.

The resort is right on the beach, and we had a lot of fun evenings watching the sun set in the hammocks on the shore. Our bungalow was well appointed and had a very large bathroom and shower, exceeding our expectations.

The food was great, but don't order the cheeseburger (what were we thinking ordering a cheeseburger in the south pacific!)

The highlight of the stay was taking a kayak (available at the resort) out to the breakwater and then snorkeling here. It was, by far, the clearest water I've ever seen, making the coral look like a rainbow. We even ran into a reef shark (that was more afraid of me than me of him!)
