Surfside on the Lake Motel - Page 1

I'm not quite sure what everyone is complaining about. Even while staying at Surfside, we saw and heard many guests complaining about everything. I think they were just being rude because My family and I had a great time. The place is older, but in Lake George that is how everything is. The rooms were great. The staff was very helpfull and the property was very clean. I would definately consider staying again, especially since I heard that the hotel is building new rooms for the 2009 season. My family and I can not wait to go back.

MAJOR PROBLEM: DIRTY ROOM; DIRTY LINEN; POOR MANAGEMENT!!!

With proper management, motel has the possibility of being a true gem in Lake George Village. Close to everything, nice beach. Convenient rooms for families and seniors alike. Room had belongings for previous lodgers: coins and used tissues under bed; coins, receipts, used tissues in drawers; dirtly pillowcases on extra pillows. Unresolved after complaint.

All I can say is go someplace else! This hotel is a low class, dirty establishment. My wife (who is pregnant) and I hated it the minute we stepped foot in the room. We were charged $220.00 a night for a lakefront room on the beach, it is a total rip off! Room was un-kept & falling apart, smelled & had bugs in it because the windows don’t open and there is no screen on the door which needed to stay open for fresh air because it was not hot enough for AC. We tried to check out so we could stay in a real hotel but the manager (or owner) would not work with us at all, even when I explained that my pregnant wife despised the room. So we were forced to stay in this dump. We actually left early and didn't stay the last night just so we could go back home, our vacation was ruined!

I absolutely loved the poolside cabins. The cabins were big enough and during a heat wave, the air conditioners worked well. The rooms were very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The location was terrific, right on the lake. The trolley service was a nice feature for the town. The location of this motel was right on the main strip of Lake George, with everything within walking distance. This was a family reunion and the motel had an area for cook outs, which really worked well for us.

This hotel made me feel content: It was so relaxing. I could not hear other visitors.
