Oh my God! This place is very nasty. The room smelled very bad.
There was no alarm clock, the smoke detector was hanging by a wire, the clicker to the television did not work (maybe that’s because it was taped together), the hotel manager could not speak English, the pillows were flat as paper, the hotel key did not work half of the time, there were times that we could not find any hotel workers. They seemed to have just vanished. There was no chain lock just a regular door lock.
Now the neighborhood, there was riff-raff walking up and down the road, there were people just hanging around all hours of the night, and when watching the news one morning there was a shooting one block away that night.
Did I mention that our bathroom had several holes in the wall. Hmm.

Unbearable mildew smell in room, no cable, no clock, lame breakfast (toast & pastries only, not even milk & cereal), both ice machines broken, dead bug splatted on wall, no refrigerator, door lock did not work properly, mildew in shower, oversized...

The Super 8 was clean and the staff was very friendly. Althought, it wasn't in walking distance of much so a car is important. The pool was nice and clean, as well as the rooms. It isn't a lot of glitz and glam but i would stay there again.

This is the most awful hotel I have ever been in! We checked in and out right away. Be advised that this area is well known for drug trafficking and prostitution. Stabbings have happened here in broad daylight. People rent the rooms at hourly rates most the time, to do drugs or have sex with prostitutes. Random people have access to the rooms. You are not safe here. You better put the chain on the door and pray to Jesus that you don't get attacked, murdered, robbed, etc.
Now that I have warned you, my mom and sister arrived in Florida a few hours ahead of me and my husband. We had never been to Sarasota, so I unwittingly booked this Super 8 not knowing how dangerous or unclean it was. My mom and sister were sitting in their room with a broken phone, a half collapsed ceiling, people having sex in the room next to them, with bodily fluids on the bed spread visibly.
As they were sitting there waiting for my husband and I to arrive, some man walked into their room with a key. How did this man get the key? We aren't sure. But luckily, my mom had the chain on the door. She called 911 and the police came. The hotel manager and the other worker, claimed they didn't know him. The worker copied my mom’s credit card for some reason, and after she did that, my mom cancelled her card immediately. They got out of there ASAP.
When we arrived, our room smelled like cat pee so horribly bad I couldn't breathe. My husband told me that he learned of how Meth (the drug) smells exactly like cat pee. So our room had just been used to smoke drugs and stuff like that.
I just hope no one stays at this hotel. The pool is a nightmare if you are thinking of coming here because of the pool. There's no decent place to eat within walking distance except fast food. This place needs to be condemned and cleaned out. The police need to bust down this area hardcore. Good luck.

rooms need to be remodeled. Room was not properly clean before our stay. Pepsi can and candy wrappers under the bed; items in the refrigerator which melted due to power outage. Room lock temprimental; no coffee maker no alarm clock. Manager not...
