We stayed here twice in two weeks. We flew into Salt Lake for a road trip north and stayed our first and last day of vacation. The first night the room was average, clean, adequate. They have a breakfast buffet that was okay. You could make a fresh hot waffle in 2 1/2 minutes decent experience. They have a small pool, indoor, and hot tub, vending machines, ice and free wireless internet as well as access to two computers and printers for internet use in the lobby. It was clean and freshly decorated. On our last stay we had a newly renovated, retro style room. My teenage daughter (16) loved it and I enjoyed the design also. It still smelled slightly of paint. I believe a dark laminate wood floor and fresh decor added to it's appeal. We were very pleased. Flat screen TV, new mattresses, bright cheerful colors. It was great having a fresh, clean, upbeat environment at the end of a long trip.

As I was flying out of Salt Lake the next morning, I wanted a place close to the airport (this one is only about 6 1/2 miles away), right off the interstate. It's very easy to find. It doesn't look the greatest, but I don't regret staying here. The room was fine; it wasn't as big as some other Super 8s, but I wasn't squeezed tightly, either. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I did sleep well. Breakfast was OK, I was impressed that there was a lady constantly keeping the coffee and pastries filled. Plenty of tables available. There's also a computer available in the lobby, which I very much appreciated, even though it had a slow connection to the internet. Another nice touch--deeply appreciated--was that the clerk printed out my airline passes, at no charge. She also gave clear directions on how to get to the airport. I also got a free Sunday newspaper. This motel is a few blocks away from many of the Mormon tourist highlights, but I saw a trolley nearby. It would be a little hike to walk, but it is doable. I sensed we weren't in the best part of town, but I certainly felt safe, but nevertheless wouldn't I want to be out after dark. A GREAT touch is that there's a Maverick gas station right there, so if you've got a rental car, this is the place to gas up before you return it--and for my 9 day trip, all around SE Utah, this was the cheapest gas I found, 10 - 15 cents less than what I paid out in the desert. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience (even though some rooms looked really bad, with the locks all broken, then peeking in I discovered they were being worked on) and I'd definitely consider it again, especially if going back to the airport the next day.
Be careful when driving Salt Lake City; it appears most streets are one way, and it's easy to get confused.

Major renovations had occurred to the rooms. However, the hallways were dark and they had an unpleasant odor. We had trouble with the air conditioning unit, the lack of hot water and the non draining bath tub.
I am not likely
to return to the Super 8 Salt Lake City Dwt..
I might recommend it to friends.

I arrived at the hotel several hours before the check in time. I had been traveling all day by bus and I was tired. Rather than make me wait until my reserved room was ready, the staff made the extra effort to find another room for me so I could check in a few hours early at no extra charge.

Super 8 is a good choice for value-conscious travelers. What the hotel lacks in features, it makes up for in price. Plus, my experience with the staff was super positive.
