This is the email that I sent to the manager there concerning several complaints, chiefly finding mouse droppings in our bed the morning of check out.
1) Every time we tried to flush the toilet, we had to stand there and jiggle the handle until the water stopped running.
2) The lamp on the table beside the refrigerator and microwave needed repair. When you cut the switch off, the whole section holding the light bulb was lose and felt like it was about to fall apart. Someone could get electrocuted. We chose not to use it after the
first try.
3) The information on the website said this motel was newly renovated. Well, judging by the conditions of the walls in our room, that information was false. There were sections of the wallpaper that looked damaged. It looked like someone had damaged the wall and they just covered it up with a piece of wallpaper. This wasn't a big issue but a 'newly renovated' hotel should look nicer inside and out.
4) My main complaint: During our packing the following morning, I removed the blanket and top sheet from the bed to check to see if we were leaving anything;
clothes, etc. Upon removing the top sheet, I noticed a small black thing at the foot of the bed. I bent over to get a closer look and it was a mouse dropping!! How
did mouse droppings get under the sheets which were supposed to be clean?? I left a little piece of paper with an arrow pointing to the dropping. I wrote a note to give to the receptionist about the toilet and the dropping. I went to check out and told the gentleman
there I had something to tell him. I told him about the toilet; no comment. There was someone sitting in the kitchen area so I told him to read what I had written because I didn't want to say it out loud with someone nearby eating. He glanced at what I had
written about the mouse dropping and all he said was OK. What kind of response is that?? OK?? No shocked apology? I would have been mortified to have a customer find that under the sheets if I had been working there. Quite obviously, he didn't care. Now, I
demand some sort of refund or credit for a night's stay or I'm going to post a review of this situation so all of your potential customers can read what kind of motel this is and how much your employees care about customer service. I was so upset about his lack
of concern that I didn't even mention the lamp. I just hope no one gets injured by that.
It happens that the gentleman that I talked to was the manager and never once apologized or even let me know that he was the manager.
This was his response to my email (concerning the droppings) after writing to him twice:
"In reference to the mouse dropping, I must say that I have been here five years and there has never been a sighting of mice or mice droppings. We have an excellent pest control company and routine that we follow monthly. The pest control company services the motel once monthly and we do an internal treatment one floor weekly. If we had mice, believe me, we would not have any housekeepers."
I guess my husband and I must had imagined what we were seeing. I will never again stay in this motel and we have stayed at numerous Super 8 motels throughout the years, always having found them clean and comfortable.

Horrible
Halls and common areas smelled of smoke, lackluster housekeeping, elevator in need of repair, problems with changing payment type at checkout (already charged reservation card?).

Mediocre
But it was clean so it wasn't unbearable. The elevator was broken and the stairs were outside. This was on a very very hot and very humid day, plus our room was on the 4th floor. All the ice machines and soda machine were broken. None of the lamps...

Room was ok, but the employees must smoke because even the linens & towels had faint cigarette smoke smell. The lobby and hallways smelled so badly of smoke that it was a tremendous relief to get into my room. The pool looked clean. It appears the...
