I normally do not take time to write reviews, but I will make an exception for this motel. If you are person with children perhaps visiting Six Flags, this is not the motel for you! This Super 8 advertises itself as being convenient to Six Flags and this is attractive to most families. If you care about the safety of your children, do not stay at this motel.
Illegal drug sales and prostitution are a regular occurrence at this motel during broad daylight and the management at this motel does nothing about it. The motel advertises non-smoking rooms. Apparently, the motel management defines non-smoking room as putting the ash tray and the cigarette buds in a drawer next to the bed. I took the ash tray out of the room, gave it to the manager, and expressed my unhappiness with the smell in the room. His only solution to the problem was to give me a bottle of air freshener. Not only did the room down right stink, it was filthy. The drain in the tub did not work and the air conditioner in the room did not cool properly. The manager was contacted about this, and he did not seem to think there was a problem. I attempted to discuss some of the other problems with the hotel manager, but he was so arrogant that I gave up and left the motel.
Before making my reservation online, I looked closely at the photos posted on the internet and attempted to do all the research I could possibly do concerning what was surrounding the motel. I should have done more research and perhaps made a few phone calls. The photos posted online are very misleading and the surroundings include three gentlemen’s clubs that are not upscale gentlemen’s clubs. There are also adult video stores and abandoned motels nearby. I am disappointed that Hotels.com would even affiliate itself with this motel. I have reserved motel rooms through Hotels.com and the experience has been pleasant.
If you are a person with a family that is looking for a motel in a safer area near Six Flags, stay at one of the motels near Lithia Springs. I believe it is Exit 44 on Interstate 20. There are also restaurants at this exit that offer decent service.
Now that I have said plenty of bad things about this motel, I guess I need to say something positive. If you are into staying at a motel that is convenient to strip clubs and purchasing drugs & sex, this is definitely the place for you.
