Super 8 Motel Athens

The proprietor of this hotel is a well-known rip-off artist. If you attempt to apply a legitimate discount to your room rate, even if you've booked it online in advance, there is always a "problem" with it and he refuses to honor the rate. This has happened to me and family members on multiple occasions. We finally got fed up with it and realized he was reporting the low rate and then pocketing the difference. Super 8 Customer Service does absolutely nothing about it...nothing! They apparently don't care that this guy is sullying their chain's name. My advice is to not patronize ANY Super 8 motel. But for God's sake, stay away from this one!

We booked several rooms for a tournament in the area. When we called to verify the rooms the morning we were to check in and we were informed that all our rooms were cancelled. The staff was rude on the phone and could not explain what happened. When various members of our group checked into the hotel later that day the management immediately began yelling at our group and they were not greeted in a hospitable manner. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, you expect a friendly staff and I would not even call this medicore service. I have never been treated so terribly for purely walking into this hotel. We were scheduled to stay two nights, but moved to a different hotel the next night. We were even informed by the police that they have had several complaints regarding the management of this hotel.

It was one of the best Super 8 motels we have stayed in. It was clean and the staff was efficient and friendly.

This hotel made me feel welcome: I received a friendly greeting and they were helpful.

It's just way too expensive for what we got. Also, although they allowed our dog to stay, they were not at all nice about it, and we had to stay in a room at the back and walk the dog way in the back.
