Super 8 - Carbondale just jumped to the top of our list for future stays in Carbondale as our son attends college their. With AARP and Government traveler rates --- BEST value for the quality my wife and I expect.
Carbondale folks came through with flying colors - taking care of me when I had to make a change to my 2-night reservation two-hours before the 6:00PM change/cancellation deadline, cancelling the first night but keeping the second. Worked out perfectly; check-in was smooth. Microwave, fridge, and FREE wireless internet service in all their rooms! Room was clean and comfortable. Both queen bed mattresses were firm and very comfortable. Limited breakfast selections, but enough to get you off for the day without having to buy breakfast elsewhere. Other amenties include directly across the street from Carbondale's University Mall, many fast food, casual, and upscale restaurants nearby; several within walking distance. Wal-Mart, Kohls, and other stores close by.
Super-8 - Carbondale was the "silver lining" in an otherwise frustrating weekend moving our son into his first off-campus apartment, as well as near 100-degree heat and humidity. This was also SIU-Carbondale's summer-term commencement weekend, so we really felt fortunate to get in at the Super 8, and to have such a nice stay.

Room was very clean. Fridge and microwave included which was great! Desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again when I return to the area.
