Super 8 Austin Central Motel

Came down there with some friends. We loved the location but hated everything else. Trash everywhere and the internet NEVER works but they advertise free high speed internet.

I stayed here last week and wasn't expecting TOO much ( i mean it is a Motel after all) Anyway I walked in and immediately felt weirded out. The "lobby" is pretty much a desk. Understandably there are some things that just aren't the fault of the employees. However the lack of cleanliness IS. Also, there were homeless people knocking on my door asking for money and cigarettes????? Apparently the motel is located on the East side of Austin which isn't the greatest side. Granted it is right at the corner of 35 and 12th st. You'd think it wouldn't be too bad. Well it is. The owners or managers there are a HUGE part of the shadiness there. I personally watched the woman (indian or paki) quote one rate to someone on the phone. *for that same night* Then quote a different rate to someone who just walked in. *for the same night* Keep in mind that the woman who walked in was a minority. The manager quoted her 155 for a single room!!!! AT A SUPER 8???? Needless to say I stayed for one night then went to a different hotel. I hadn't read any reviews before booking, Hopefully this helps someone else out.

I specifically booked this hotel for the location and the advertised price, which indicated that it included free high speed internet service. What this amounted to was one slow, community computer in the lobby, which was always occupied. I needed wireless internet access in my room and I was very dissatisfied that I could not use it.

It is a nice place to stay that is reasonably priced.

This hotel made me feel elegant: It is furnished nicely.

The service was great, but the advertising was a little wrong. They offered continental breakfast and they did not have it.
